The Holidays are OVER

Yes! I am finally able to complete this post! Then there shall be two posts in one month! Celebrate! But let me tell you, it wasn't easy. Just about everything was failing on me. I had to go through so much just to be able to get this post even started. This is what I felt like after I had finally finished this post.

First there was starting my new job - yay I'm an RN! Soooo much responsibility... I have also been sick for weeks and I had homework to complete before starting my job. Plus, my computer is still running hot every time I open a program. Not only that, when I just wanted to sit down and calmly write a new blog today my Bamboo wouldn't work!

I had to reinstall the whole thing! But fortunately it worked after that. Phew. Furthermore, a whole lot of other things got in the way of the blog writing.

But now there's no excuses - so let's get into it.

So, this is how I had spent the last few days of the holidays.

Gross... It was right before I started my new job too. During orientation I believed I made a good impression.

Tomorrow will be my third week into it. It is well and truly safe to say that after 16 years I am no longer a student. It's quite alarming.

No, wait, that's not right.

There we go.

I am currently working on a ward. I know, I know, I didn't get peri-operative nursing, but this is only my first rotation - and it's better if I have some more ward experience before I go into my specialised area. Let's just hope my next rotation is in theatre. Mind you, the ward I'm working on is fantastic - the staff are amazing and I've had experience there before. So I know I'm going to have a good rotation there.

It's taken a few days to find my feet. It's been so long since I have worked on a ward, but I'm picking things up fast and when I'm stuck I always ask questions. I hope all my other nursing-uni buddies are doing well also.

Last weekend I went over to my friend Blake's house and we watched some movies. My other friend Simon was also there. I was so excited to tell them all about my new job. When we were all seated...

Oh - on another topic, I had quite a relaxing holiday between study and work. I didn't get up to too much... sorry I'm not very exciting. But during these holidays, my friend Ayla and I went to Werribee park for a picnic! It was a beautiful day.

We were eating lunch whilst talking about pretty things. Then some unexpected visitors arrived...

They hovered around us for the entire time we ate. But luckily no more came.

And to finish, I'll draw the horrific event which occurred in my room not too long ago...

I'd just like to say thanks to all of you who read my blog. Your support and encouragement means so much to me. I hope you will continue to read my blog in the future!! And please, spread the word! The more people who read the blog - the more motivation I have to write/draw them! And don't forget to join the facebook page to get updates via facebook - the link is on the home page of this blog!

That's all my spamming for today, until then - take care!
xx

WARM

I was so pumped for writing a blog post today (lately I've been missing the 'urge'...), I jumped on my computer (named Harry Potter II) - opened up Photoshop and... it just didn't wanna work for me. I tried to draw an eye and it took almost 2 minutes to register and appear on the screen. That's 2 minutes too long. Not only that, my whole computer is running a bit slow. So shattered. I really wanted to play with my Bamboo... but the CPU skyrockets when I use Photoshop, even as I type now my computer is heating up something shocking. So I've been running the disk defragmenter, hopefully that will make HPII better.

But I still wanted to do a post - I shall not be hindered! So that's why I'm drawing the pictures and then scanning them.

Wait a moment-

Oh who cares - moving on. Today has been really HOT! Sooo hot. As someone who lives by the sea you'd think the first place I'd be at is the beach, right? Well, on extremely hot days such as this my skin puts me at a disadvantage.

...it's actually not that dramatic - but I do have fair skin which leaves me prone to burning (and never getting a tan frustratingly).

So this is how I've spent most of my day...

At one point I got up to answer the door when something very odd happened.

The pillow on the couch got attached to one of the buttons on the back pocket of my shorts. A bit of fiddling managed to separate the pillow from my ass. The strange part was later on when I stood up IT HAPPENED AGAIN.

How??

Anyway, I did get up to other stuff during the day. I read some manga.

Ate some ice cream.

Played with my iPad 2.

*Had to wait another 8hrs after that*

Even did a bit of singing.

Oh - by the way -

I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve/Day. I partied hard - didn't get home until 6am. For me that's a fair effort.

Now I haven't really done much thinking about New Year Resolutions. I suppose I have a few... Lose weight, finish my book(s), save heaps of money, work hard in my new career, create deadlines for my blog (so I actually do more than a post a month...  sorry) and find a lovely husband...

Zero...?

 Hmm...

Hope you all didn't mind the lack of colour. I must admit - nothing beats drawing free-handed, even if I did rush it. I wanted to get this post out before midnight seeing as I was talking about the events of today.

See you soon!
